David Read

David Read David Read is a freelance professional trombonist in London, working with orchestras such as the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Bath Philharmonic and Southbank Sinfonia. As a soloist he performed the both the Buxton Orr and Nino Rota trombone concertos during 2007. Before this, David completed his MMus at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama.

David also plays early music, working in cornett and sackbut ensembles. This is complemented with monthly study at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis, Switzerland.

Aside from performing, David teaches brass in a London school and is a freelance music journalist, writing for Classical Music, Music Teacher, Brass Band World, Brass Herald and The Trombonist.
